What we do

The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and keep grieving families supported. We do this by:

  • Funding life-saving research into the sudden and unexpected death of babies and young children.
  • Empowering millions of parents and carers every year with life-saving advice on baby safety, including safer sleep, baby product safety, accident and infection prevention.
  • Training thousands of childcare and healthcare professionals annually so they can confidently protect babies in their local community.
  • Donating essential nursery items to families living in crisis, one of the groups at highest risk of sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI).
  • Offering anyone affected by SUDI access to specialist bereavement support, whenever they need it, for as long as they need it.
  • Influencing national and international policy to champion policy changes that have a direct impact on maternal and infant health outcomes.

Why your support matters

If The Lullaby Trust were to disappear tomorrow, the impact would be immediate and devastating. Every one of the 700,000 babies born in the UK each year would face a far greater risk of preventable infant death, with new families left to navigate the deluge of inaccurate, conflicting and often dangerous advice that can be found online.

Why this partnership makes sense:

  • We both care deeply about giving babies and young children the best possible, safest start to life.
  • Over 75% of professionals training with The Lullaby Trust on safer sleep are early years practitioners, the very people who power Childbase Partnerships.
  • We both work hard to give families peace of mind, empowering them with information.
  • Our training and resources can support you in having difficult conversations with families about safer sleep.
  • Every day, both of our organisations work hard to keep babies safe.
  • Every pound raised and donated will support grieving families through their darkest days, and empower families with life-saving information.
