Supporters like you have inspired change from the start

When The Lullaby Trust was founded as The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths in 1971, it was in memory of a baby called Martin. His grandmother, Nancy, wouldn’t accept that her healthy grandson could have died so suddenly and inexplicably. She gave a researcher £200 to hold a conference to find some answers.

The research that Nancy sparked, and which support like yours continues to nurture, remains the backbone of our expert advice. Your help has grown this into advice booklets for parents, training for professionals and support services for bereaved families.

Fast forward 52 years and together, we have become an incredible force for change. Together, we have been instrumental in reducing the number of babies dying suddenly in the UK from 19 per week in 1991 to 3 per week today.
