We’re committed to digital accessibility.
One of the defining reasons we launched a brand new website was so we could take a leap towards a future with accessibility in mind.
A step in the right direction
We are committed to accessibility and these means continually testing the site and make improvements. We will continue exploring funding options for further development to our website, or for our resources.
What we’ve done:
- Ensured accessibility was a key aim of our website rebuild project, and began our website rebuild with understanding diverse user needs.
- Embedded a more intuitive, mindful and consistent way to navigate our website.
- Ensured our use of colour is accessible and the correct contrasts are used throughout. Our brand colours are AAA rated for accessibility.
- Created internal processes and guidance that ensures that scheduled multi-media added to our website or social media channels from February 2025 onwards is more accessible e.g. alt text (where it is an option) and captions. This also includes better use of hierarchical headings for navigation ease.
- Began considering accessibility when choosing future third parties or website plug-ins.
- Ensured our buttons, links and forms are accessible using keyboard alone, rather than requiring mouse use.
Adapting our website to work for you
You may have a better experience on our website by changing settings on your computer or device e.g. text size, or fonts. This can be done using accessibility features on your device or use of assistive technology. Take a look at this resource from AbilityNet for more information.
