The research we fund

We have been funding cutting-edge independent research since 1971 and have since invested £12 million into projects. This research helps us to identify why, when and where babies and young children may be at risk of sudden and unexpected death.

Our advice to families and professionals is based on this peer-reviewed research from around the world.

If you’re a researcher

Guidance on how to apply for our research funding when we have an active grant round will be published on our funding application process webpage. Applications are assessed on scientific merit and the relevance to the remit of our research strategy.

Here, you can also learn about our grants committee and our lay panel.

We are a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). All AMRC members support the AMRC position statement on the use of animals in research.

We are also an active member of the International Society for the Study and Prevention of Perinatal and Infant Death (ISPID) which supports and promotes an international conference on sudden infant deaths every two years.

Every baby safe. Every family supported.

We won’t stop until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly. This is a huge mission, and it is kindness from people like you that will take us one step closer. With you by our side, we can keep babies safe, keep grieving families supported, and fund research that has the potential to save babies’ lives.

Donate today, find answers and save babies’ lives.
