Our funding application process
How we review and process funding applications, the people involved and the steps followed.
At The Lullaby Trust, we recognise the importance of research in improving understanding of infant care and baby loss, and supporting families and professionals. If you are an academic or organisation seeking to recruit participants for a study relating to SIDS/SUDI, pregnancy, infant care or baby loss, please get in touch. We’re committed to sharing ethically approved, good quality research wherever possible. Please read our guidelines below carefully before submitting your research recruitment request.
The ‘Applicant(s)’ refers to the individuals and/or organisations that have requested The Lullaby Trust to advertise recruitment for their research. ‘Families’ refers to the prospective participants.
As a small charity, we carefully manage requests we receive to ensure they align with our overall strategy and capacity, based on a set of criteria.
To request research recruitment support, please email [email protected] stating clearly how your study meets each of the criteria listed and also the date when your planned recruitment closes.
If accepted, your study will be added to the Take part in a research study area of the website. On occasion, we may be able to share studies via our newsletters or social media channels, however this is at the discretion of The Lullaby Trust based on how closely the study aligns with our overall strategy.
We are unable to share studies that do not have ethical approval, directly recruit participants on your behalf, or share any personal data of our supporters.

Our baby safety advice is based on decades of research. This has helped us understand the risk factors for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
We attend many national and international events that cover sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and sudden and unexpected death in infancy (SUDI).
