The Big Give Christmas Challenge

Thank you for helping to keep babies in crisis situations safe this Christmas

One gift, twice the impact

Thanks to our incredibly kind supporters, we hit our initial Big Give Christmas Challenge target of £70,088 in just 5 days! This will provide 400 vulnerable families, living in temporary accommodation or crisis situations, with essential safer sleep items for their baby.

The campaign is now closed and donations can no longer be doubled.

Thank you for helping to ensure that every baby has access to safer sleep, no matter their circumstances.

How it works

Donate via the Big Give during 28 Nov - 5 Dec

Your donation will be doubled while matched funds last

More babies' lives will be saved

Bedtime Bundles

With thanks to Folk and Thread for providing the sleeping bags and cot sheets and Red Kite for the discounted travel cots.

The difference you'll make

For families living in emergency situations or temporary accommodation, it can be incredibly difficult to create a safer sleep space for their babies, whether that’s because of where they’re living or because they can’t afford to buy essential items. Families living in deprivation are 23% more at risk of infant deaths.

We don’t know the causes of SIDS but we know there are ways to reduce the risk, which is why it’s so important that families have access to life-saving advice and resources. Our new Bedtime Bundles project will provide families in emergency accommodation or temporary housing with a bundle containing a travel cot, baby sleeping bag, thermometer and advice leaflets.

A gift of £30 could pay for one bundle of essential safer sleep items for a family in crisis or temporary accommodation.

This Christmas you can help give some of the most vulnerable babies the chance for a safe and happy future, wherever their home is.

Meet Summer

Summer’s two daughters died, the first from SIDS and the second was stillborn. She is now pregnant with a little boy and living in temporary accommodation.

”My experience in temporary accommodation in the past was not good… It was just really hard, because obviously you want to prepare for your baby, but you can’t get everything in the space that you’re in.”

”I think projects like The Lullaby Trust’s Bedtime Bundles are important because some people may not be able to afford to provide a safer sleep space for their baby. Or they might not actually have the knowledge about safer sleep. We don’t actually know what causes babies to die of SIDS sometimes, like with my daughter, but you can try to do everything you can to prevent it as much as possible.’’
