CONI News

November 2024 update:

Unfortunately we currently have no availability of monitors or mattress pads at the moment to donate to areas or families. Every area should maintain their own local stock of monitors and mattress pads to provide to CONI families. Please contact the CONI team coni@lullabytrust.org.uk if you would like purchase information in order for your Trust or organisation to buy monitors and mattress pads for your local stock.

February 2024 update:

We have launched a new private Facebook group exclusively for parents currently on, or who previously had, CONI support. The aim of this group is to provide a supportive community for parents to connect with each other by sharing and asking questions related to CONI.

Please signpost families to join “The Lullaby Trust: CONI Parents” on Facebook. They can do this by searching for the name of the group or you can click this button and share the link with them:

CONI Forms and Additional Information

  • We have updated our CONI Guidelines to replace the existing CONI co-ordinators Manual, CONI Protocol and CONI Guidelines for Users documents. You can download the new version here.
  • The Evaluation of the Care of the Next Infant (CONI) Programme by Fiveways 2020 is now complete and makes interesting reading for coordinators. It reports on a combination of interviews and feedback from parent is who have experienced the programme. You can download the report here.
  • If necessary, the co-ordinator should complete a notification of baby death form.
  • Our Movement Monitors Fact Sheet includes information for co-ordinators as a quick guide only and families must be signposted to the manufacturer’s instructions for the monitor they are using. Click to download.
  • We have updated our CONI Leaflet, you can download the new version here.
  • Please keep an eye on our meetings page for future dates for Q&A sessions and new CONI co-ordinator training.
  • We annually refresh the log of requests for equipment, as funding is intermittently available. As you can appreciate, the demand is very high and so there is no guarantee that you will receive the quantity of monitors that you apply for.  Please use this form to request extra monitors/scales.
  • If you wish to update your contact details, please use this form.
  • It is important for us to record as accurately as possible the number of families who decline CONI, or who use CONI but do not wish for their details to be sent to the CONI Team. Please use this form to notify us of any families known to you who are eligible to participate on CONI and decide against using the programme or who enrol on CONI but decline consent for details to be sent to the CONI Team.
