Jodie recently celebrated her 40th birthday by running 40 miles in memory of her nephew Archie. Jodie raised an incredible £815 for The Lullaby Trust. Here, she shares her story:

“Saturday 27th February was my 40th birthday, I wanted to do something special but due to lockdown options were limited, couldn’t go away for the weekend or even out for a meal! So, I decided to run 40 miles! I am very lucky to have a large wood close to me so this was a perfect location.

I thought that running 40 miles on my own would be tough so I roped in 10 family members and close friends who each ran 4 miles with me throughout the day.

I set out at 6am with my husband and son who ran the first 4 miles with me in the dark!  The weather was absolutely perfect and turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, we even saw a few deer on our travels.

Nearly 10 hours later I had reached 40 miles! Joining me on the last 4 mile lap was my sister in law, Sophie. Which brings me to the reason I chose The Lullaby Trust to donate the money to. Sophie and my brother Liam lost their beautiful baby boy Archie at 16 months old. They have so many unanswered questions as to why this happened, so hopefully the money raised will go towards finding answers for them, preventing more tragedies for other families, and supporting more families.”
