The support will enable health visitors to become Care of Next Infant (CONI) Co-ordinators in the South West and Midlands, working directly with bereaved families and cover the cost of resources needed for the programme including 5 SISS monitors.

The CONI programme provides extra support for bereaved families during pregnancy and after birth to help reduce anxiety and allow them to enjoy the first year of their baby’s life. The programme offers much-needed regular contact with a health visitor, symptom diaries, weight charts and movement monitors and the support of a paediatrician.

Postcode Community Trust is a grant-giving charity, funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. It provides financial support for charities and good causes which help initiatives that benefit communities through grass-roots sports, arts, recreation and wellbeing programmes which improve a community’s physical and mental health.

Jenny Ward Chief Executive of The Lullaby Trust said

“We would like to thank players of People’s Postcode Lottery and Postcode Community Trust whose generous funding will enable more families in the South West and Midlands access to the vital support offered by the CONI programme. Having another child after a bereavement can make parents feel incredibly anxious, the CONI programme is a lifeline to many families whose baby has died.”
