Training overview

The death of a child can be considered one of the most devastating life events for parents. Parents may clearly remember interactions with professionals at the time of their child’s death. Later, these memories may bring comfort or distress. Police enquiries need to keep an appropriate balance between forensic and medical requirements and supporting the family at a difficult time. This comprehensive training will enable you to do that.

Specifically designed for police who provide support to individuals or families following the death of a baby. This course will deepen your understanding of grief and help you build the skills and confidence to offer effective, compassionate support.

It explores the emotional and psychological impact of baby loss and the importance of communication, trauma-informed care, and thoughtful signposting when supporting bereaved families.

Cost per person: £30
