Whilst we’ve significantly reduced the rate of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), four babies a week in the UK still die from SIDS and we don’t yet know why.
What we do know is that our safer sleep advice saves lives. The research that we’ve funded over the last 50 years has led to discoveries about what families can do to help reduce the risk of SIDS for their baby.
If everyone involved in the care of a baby were aware of this advice, many more babies’ lives could be saved.
This Christmas you can help to ensure that all parents and carers have the knowledge they need to keep their baby as safe as possible.
