SIDS and safer sleep training
Safer sleep advice saves babies lives. Reduce the risk of SIDS by giving our evidence-based safer sleep advice in your practice, and help us empower families.
This in-depth training is designed for health professionals and practitioners who work closely with families and have a core responsibility for providing safer sleep advice and want to feel more confident in having effective, compassionate conversations about safer sleep and reducing the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Within the training you’ll explore the fundamental messages around creating a safer sleep environment for babies and how these practices can help reduce the risk of sudden infant death. You’ll explore how to recognise and make the most of reachable moments, those key opportunities where parents and caregivers are most receptive to information.
The course features informative video presentations, supported by additional reading materials and publications to reinforce key learning points.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Since parents and carers have been following the risk reduction advice first promoted in the early 1990s, the number of infants dying has fallen significantly.
The Care of Next Infant (CONI) programme supports bereaved families before and after the birth of their new baby, giving hundreds of families peace of mind and support.
