This reflective training is designed for professionals and practitioners who provide ongoing support to individuals or families following the death of a baby or young child, or who may come into contact with bereaved families during their practice. The course focuses on the cultural, ethnic, and religious factors that can shape how grief is experienced and expressed, offering essential insights to support culturally sensitive care.

Understanding the influence of culture on grief is vital when supporting families through baby loss. This course explores how cultural beliefs, practices, and rituals can affect a family’s experience of bereavement, and how assumptions or a lack of awareness can create unintentional barriers to support. 

Through thoughtful content and practical guidance, the training will help you approach conversations with greater cultural awareness, empathy, and confidence. You’ll learn how to recognise and respond to diverse expressions of grief, and how to use culturally appropriate resources to support families in a respectful and meaningful way.
