The Child Death Review
All child deaths are required to be reviewed by local, specialist Child Death Review Panels. The main purpose is to improve support to bereaved families and to try and prevent future deaths.
Our leaflet is available for parents and carers of any child under 18 who has died. It explains what happens in the Child Death Review and describes stages of the review including the post-mortem examination, professional meetings, inquests, Child Death Overview Panels and Local Safeguarding Children Boards.
The process should also be explained to you by a professional, but please contact our Helpline if you have any further questions 0808 802 6868 or email email@example.com
